Bengaluru Mysuru

Kempegowda International Airport Bengaluru (BLR), situated 35 km north of central Bengaluru and 180 km from Mysuru, is a major international gateway with global and domestic flight connections. Mysuru Airport (MYQ at Mandakalli) offers regional domestic flights. KSR Bengaluru (SBC) and Mysuru Junction (MYS) are premier railway hubs connected by high-speed Vande Bharat and Shatabdi Express services that complete the intercity link in under two hours.

Central Bengaluru (around MG Road, Cubbon Park, and Indiranagar) provides cosmopolitan hotels, lush parks, and microbreweries. North Bengaluru near Devanahalli offers convenient transit for airport arrivals and dawn excursions to Nandi Hills. In Mysuru, base around Nazarbad or Agrahara for walking access to Mysore Palace (Amba Vilas), Devaraja Market, and Chamundi Hill. Srirangapatna's riverbank resorts along the Cauvery offer quiet heritage bases near Tipu Sultan's island fortress and Ranganathittu Bird Sanctuary.

In Bengaluru, Namma Metro's Purple and Green lines provide fast transit through heavy urban traffic, complemented by app-based cabs (Uber/Ola) and metered auto-rickshaws. In Mysuru, local auto-rickshaws, city buses, and app taxis navigate the compact street grid easily. Between both cities, KSRTC operates dedicated 'Flybus' coaches directly linking BLR Airport to Mysuru, alongside electric AC intercity buses and high-frequency express trains.

NH-275 (the 10-lane access-controlled Bengaluru-Mysuru Expressway) covers the 143 km distance between the two cities in just 90 to 120 minutes, bypassing historic towns like Ramanagara, Channapatna (famous for wooden toys), and Mandya. Heading north from Bengaluru, NH-44 connects directly to BLR Airport and the scenic switchbacks climbing Nandi Hills (approx. 60 km). Note that two-wheelers and three-wheelers are prohibited from using the main expressway lanes.
